East China Fair, or ECF for short, is the largest regional trade fair organized in China which features traders from across the world and also has the highest turnover. It is held annually in March in Shanghai. It is co-organized by nine provinces and cities including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Nanjing and Ningbo.

Since 1991, the East China Fair has been successfully held for 32 sessions. The 32nd East China Fair, which was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, had an exhibition area of 126,500 square meters and 5,720 booths. It consisted of four professional sub-exhibitions: Garments, Textiles, Home Products and Gifts, as well as two dedicated exhibition areas: Overseas Products and Cross-border E-commerce. This year’s edition attracted 3,748 companies, including 326 overseas companies, and over 40,000 merchants from 111 countries and regions, with turnover amounting to $2.21 billion.

On the morning of March 1, the 32nd East China Fair (ECF) opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Themed "Focusing on quality upgrades and making solid progress in the high-quality development of foreign trade", the opening ceremony was graced by guests including Zhu Min, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Zhang Xi'an, vice-president of the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Textiles, both delivering insightful speeches. Lian Ping, chairman of the China Chief Economist Forum and vice-president of the Shanghai Economic Society, also delivered the opening speech.

Among the attendees were Zhang Jie, vice-president of the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Light Industrial Products and Arts-Crafts; Kenji Mizuta, president of JETRO's Shanghai representative office; Ji Shengjun, president of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export and president of Orient International (Holding) Co.; and Li Dong, president of Donghao Lansheng Group. The opening ceremony was presided over by Shen Weihua, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.
